GTA 6 is Going to be Terrible…
A recent announcement from Rockstar Games founder Jamie King spells doom for the franchise.
Don’t even get me started on GTA 6.
Ever since the departure of series creator and visionary Houser, the Grand Theft Auto series has been on a steady decline. And with each new release, it becomes more and more clear that the once great franchise is now a shell of its former self, a shadow of what it once was.
Now, it looks like Rockstar is FINALLY set to release GTA 6, and from what we’ve seen so far, it looks like they’re going the “politically correct” route. What does that mean for the series?
Well, for one, it means that the already declining quality is going to plummet even further. But more importantly, it means that the series is going to lose its edge. GTA has always been a series that’s been unafraid to offend. It’s been a series that’s reveled in its own controversy, and that’s what made it so great. But now, it seems like Rockstar is kowtowing to the “left”, and that’s going to ruin everything that made the series great.
What Exactly Are They Doing?
A recent announcement stated that Rockstar Games founder Jamie King thinks GTA 6 will be less “edgy”, and that it will feature the series first female protagonist. First of all, the fact that they’re even considering a female protagonist is a huge mistake. GTA has always been about male power fantasies, and that’s one of the things that made it so great. To suddenly introduce a female protagonist would be a complete 180, and would alienate a lot of the series’ core audience.
More importantly, it seems like they’re trying to make the game more “woke”. They’re trying to make it more “inclusive” and “sensitive”, and that’s just not what GTA is about.
What Happened to the Good Old Days?
Remember when GTA was about causing as much chaos and destruction as possible? Remember when it was about being as offensive as possible? Those were the good old days. But now, it seems like Rockstar is more concerned with making a “message” than they are with making a good game. And that’s a shame, because GTA used to be one of the best franchises around.
How does a message even fit into the world of Grand Theft Auto? We play these games to escape the real world, not to be preached to about how we should be living our lives. What will happen to the strip clubs in GTA 6? Will they be replaced with safe spaces? What about the hookers? Will we no longer be able to pick them up, kill them, and get our money back? Instead, one can envision “sex workers” that are “empowered” and “independent”. No thanks.
A Further Vision of the Worst Case Scenario.
Let me paint you a picture. It’s 2030, and we’re finally getting GTA 6. The game is set in Vice City, but it’s been “reimagined” to be more “inclusive”. The once great city has been turned into a safe space, where everyone is nice to each other and no one ever gets offended. The main character is a woman, because Rockstar wants to send a message about “gender equality”. But instead of being a badass criminal like we’re used to, she’s a social justice warrior who spends her time lecturing people about privilege and checking their privilege. The missions are all about stopping hate speech and “toxic masculinity”, and the enemies are all straight white men. In fact, the only reason they’re even included in the game is to be the bad guys that our main character has to defeat.
This is the worst case scenario, but unfortunately, it’s not that far-fetched. With the direction that Rockstar is headed, it’s not hard to imagine them making a game like this. And that’s why I’m not looking forward to GTA 6. I’m not looking forward to a game that’s been ruined by political correctness, and I’m not looking forward to a game that’s more concerned with messages than it is with fun.
